"Break Free"

Mara L. Baer

Break free, from the burdens of my life. Break free, I'm heading home,
Break free, from the lies that drag me down. Lord, I'm running hard and trying not to fall.

Jennie closed her eyes and bowed her head as he turned and walked away.
What if no one else will talk to me? Should I go or should I stay?
Lord, I know it's not right. I don't know what to do. Lord, I can't face the fight.

And He said, "My child, you don't have to pay the price, My word's already spoken.
You see, I sent My Son, He gave His Life, My vow will not be broken.
No, no, you don't have to pay the price, so sleep well tonight, I'm holding your life in My hand.

Break free, from the burdens of my life. Break free, I'm heading home,
Break free, from the lies that drag me down. Lord, I'm running hard and trying not to fall.

Johnny walked away and shook his head; Lord, I've done it once again.
Why am I even here tonight? It's a battle I can't win.
Lord, I know I'm wrong. I don't know what to do; How long can this go on?

And He said, "My child, you don't have to pay the price, My word's already spoken.
You see, I sent My Son, He gave His Life, My vow will not be broken.
No, no, you don't have to pay the price, so sleep well tonight, I'm holding your life in My hand.

Look at my life, Lord, and make me see my sin. Please forgive me, from guilt now set me free.
No more will I let my pride get in Your way, and I thank You for Jesus, with grace my debt he paid!

Break free, from the burdens of my life. Break free, I'm heading home,
Break free, from the lies that drag me down. Lord, I'm running hard and trying not to fall.

I'm free, from the burdens of my life. I'm free, I'm heading home,
I'm free, from the lies that drag me down. Lord, I'm running hard and trying not to fall.
Oh, oh, I'm free.
